How Poll handles data

Status of this page
This describes how this development build works. It is not Poll’s final privacy notice, which needs legal review before any public launch.
What we hold
Your sign-in identity is held by our identity provider (Clerk). Poll stores an internal reference for you, your country and an adult confirmation, your answers, the agreements you made, and reward and payout records. We don’t ask for your date of birth or ID, and we don’t import anything from social accounts.
Who sees your answers
Only you can browse your history. Sponsors receive grouped findings after Poll review, with small groups hidden and free-text never released in this version. They never receive your identity or your answer history.
Paid studies
Each study shows its purpose, recipients, retention and reward before you agree. Your agreement covers that study only. The reward doesn’t depend on your opinion.
Unpaid questions
Personal questions are private to you. Community polls show grouped results to members once at least five people have voted. Neither is sold.
Your controls
Pause new paid studies, withdraw a study permission, export your records (download available for 7 days) and ask for deletion. Deletion erases answer content. Reward and payment records and agreement receipts are kept (draft policy: up to 6 years) for financial record-keeping, and released grouped findings may remain — we tell you exactly what was kept.
Safeguards in this build
Server-side access checks on every request; identity separated from research records by internal references (this is pseudonymisation, not anonymisation); append-only ledger and audit log; no advertising trackers. Not yet independently audited.
